ABOUT ME

My name is Kelly and I am based in Wiltshire. I have studied Geography at GCSE, A Level, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.
I have experience of working as a teaching assistant, a secondary school teacher and I have worked within an FE college. During my time away from secondary teaching, I also worked as a support worker to young adults with severe Autism and learning needs who were non-verbal.
It sounds corny but I deeply care about young people's experience of education and I am passionate about young people discovering what they love to learn. My aim with Geography Queen is to illustrate that Geography is much more than capital cities, flags and colouring in (but not going to lie here, I do love a good bit of colouring in...).

I am currently in the process of setting up a study group for home educated students in Swindon. The aim is to meet once a week and look at various topics that interest them. We will also have a private online group where we can share things we have done in our time apart as well as reflect upon our study session. If this sounds of interest to you, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

PAST STUDENTS TESTIMONIALS

This was written by a Year 7 pupil who was in my Geography class as well as my tutor group.
"Thank you for all you have done and you have [been] a massive help in my life".

"I want to thank you for teaching me! You are genuinely the best teacher I've ever had, even since nursery. You're an amazing teacher and you're lessons are great fun. Even though they're fun, I still learn an extremely large amount of work. You have helped me a lot with Geography and all the rest of the students in you're other classes!! Everyone says how lovely you are..."

This was written in my goodbye card upon leaving my teaching post at this school.
"It's not fun anymore without you in Geography".
Really pulled at my heart strings!
I worked closely with this student to support him through bullying and some emotional management techniques so that he could enjoy Geography lessons with me.
